With Aldi shopping, you frugal, modern mamas do not have to compromise between healthy choices or your budget. We can have our Organic Foods AND keep a roof over our head! With this shopping list alone, you could expect to pay a hefty price at the big name health food stores. Talk about ‘Whole Paycheck’! Am I right?!!
What is even more exciting: how many endless Organic & Gluten Free products Aldi is offering these days. They have truly listened to what we consumers want! (See website link below for further product information). I have been shopping at Aldi for years now, not just when’s I became a mama. Why not pass on my frugal shopping plan to my fellow Mama tribe?! When I review my Aldi receipt, I am usually in awe that most individual products cost $1-$3! So low!
I have also personally noticed a rise in the overall organization, product availability and cleanliness of each store, here in Chicago! My favorite location was recently rebuilt. It is super stocked, brand new and one of the largest locations! Very exciting. I’m geekin out…
…So, what should mamas also be mindful of purchasing Organic, overall?
Here is your list of the ‘Dirty Dozen’ foods. These include produce usually farmed with high amounts of pesticide use, GMO’s and unsafe farming conditions. I try to specifically do my best to buy these Organic-
The ‘Dirty Dozen’ Foods:
- sweet bell peppers.

Maintaining a Budget:
My fellow Modern mamas are so organized, you know exactly how much your weekly grocery budget is. Remember to keep that in mind, and take your list with you when you shop. My advice is to stick to the list, hit your main food groups, focus on your priorities and don’t be swayed with impulse purchases. However, enjoy the experience. Smell the fruits, say hello to the fellow shopping Mamas, wave to the workers- they are always friendly to us! Hold your meal plan list with you when you shop, keep track of spending as you work through the list. Also, prepare to freeze some of the foods. When items go on sale that you love- buy a lot of them, and stock up in the freezer! And Remember your quarter and your reusable cloth Aldi bags!
My Organized Weekly Shopping List
Here is my FREEBIE to you!
My own personal PDF download Shopping List for Aldi: I print up about ten of these at a time. To stay organized and remember what we need- I keep the list in the kitchen. I also marked an area for extra notes of items to buy just for that week- such as soap refills, cake mix for a party, seasonal or Holiday items, etc.

Aldi Baby Products:
Aldi stocks many Organic and wonderful quality Baby Products as well, now! Seasoned mommies know where to find deals AND quality for the kiddos! From foods and snacks, to clothing, diapers and wipes, bibs, sippy cups and even sleep sacks! I have found some gems at Aldi, and I only regret not buying more when I found the wonderful products! We have 2 sleep sacks for Harry that we love! They are wonderful quality: one was a fleece and the other was more of a muslin material. They are very comparable to the sleep sacks mamas buy from any chain or large baby store, at half the price!! See Baby Harry’s sleep sack from Aldi. The packaging also stated it was Organic, a great bonus! And I know price comparing: Aldi sleep sack was around $9.99, vs. a $25-$30 sleep sack from the big baby store chains! I know from our experience it has lasted months and months. He will wear it until he outgrows it!
